Capri Blue is known for fashion-inspired candles and home fragrance products, which are sold in thousands of retail locations globally.
The Prompt
Capri Blue is a fashionable brand that cycles through product line “collections” every so often. One thing these collections always have to do is showcase the brand’s “bold, fun and unapologetic” perspective. I was commissioned to conceptualize and design their next big line of products, and my goal was to merge fashion and art and to visually represent the stylish confidence of the Capri Blue woman.
The Concept
I pitched a few ideas and then worked with the Capri Blue team to develop their favorite concept: a painterly, artistic look that portrayed creativity, movement, and excitement.
The Collection
9 products were chosen, and 200k units were manufactured in the first round of the rollout.

This project was featured on The Dieline and won a Merit Award in the 2018 Dieline Awards, was selected as a Graphic Design Winner and was published in Creative Quarterly Journal 51, made the shortlist for the 2018 Communication Arts Design Competition, won a Merit Award in the 2018 HOW In-House Design Awards and a Merit Award in the 2018 HOW International Design Awards. This collection was also used as an example of on-trend patterned packaging on the global trend forecasting website WGSN, and was picked up by Bloomingdale’s and many other retailers nationwide.
